I Am She – Miss Universe India is a national beauty pageant, started in 2010, which sends its winner to Miss Universe pageant. In 2010, Femina Miss India relinquished its patent to send the representative to Miss Universe, and, Tantra Entertainment Private limited, in collabration with former Miss Universe and popular Bollywood actress Sushmita Sen, organized the pageant in the same year.

I Am She 2010

The first ever I Am She pageant was hosted by Rahul Khanna and former Femina Miss India, Neha Dhupia and co hosted by Ayushmann Khurrana. A whole lot of famous personalities from social, cultural and film fields participated in it, including, Shah Rukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Ekta Choudhary, Harman Baweja, Suchitra Pillai, Koena Mitra, etc. The reigning Miss Universe, Stefania Fernandez crowned the very first I Am She - Miss Universe India, Ushoshi Sengupta.

The judges for the show were Ace film director Farah Khan, K.D. Singh, writer Shobhaa De, Designer Malini Ramani, Actor Vivek Oberoi, cricketer Sreesanth and the reigning Miss Universe 2009 Stefania Fernandez. This first ever "I AM SHE" was directed by Mr. Ashim Sen.

30 contestants from different parts of the country participated. After the 1st round, the top 20 contestants were announced and in the next round, the top 10 contestants. Later, from the top 5 contestants, Ms. Sengupta emerged as the eventual winner.^[1]

I Am She 2011

The second edition of I Am She pageant was held on 15th July 2011 in Mumbai. The winner will represent India in Miss Universe 2011 to be held in São Paulo, Brazil. 20 contestants from different parts of the country participated. In the preliminary the contestants will go through swimsuits, evening gowns and preliminary interviews. In final after the 1st round, the top 10 will be announced. Later, from the top 5 contestants the 2011 Miss Universe India will be chosen. A whole lot of famous personalities from social, cultural and film fields are expected to attend the show. The winner of 2010 I Am She - Miss Universe India, Ushoshi Sengupta crowned Vasuki Sunkavalli of Hyderabad as Miss Universe India 2011 at the end of the event. The pageant was telecasted on 28 August at 7pm on Star World.
